In a tough economy where businesses are constantly being shut down or downsized, using your intuitive senses to come up with rent money is essential. Thousands of American's are being forced to think outside of the box in order to get that extra needed cash at the end of the month to help with rent and bills. One thing must be understood to everyone though, there is no way to make extra money in a legal manner without applying yourself and working very hard at it. There are no easy rides in the world today, and in order to get extra money for rent, bills or fun...a serious amount of creativity is needed. 

Below are some broad ideas that others around the country are doing to get that extra money to help pay rent and bills on time every month. Start here by gaining the motivation to think outside of the box and do something that you wouldn't expect from yourself...

Market your strengths...

It doesn't matter who or what you are. You have strengths that others don't. Weather it be a creative strength, a communication strength or anything you know about yourself that's stood out as natural, easy and more effective than your peers. Find what your good at and start your research. Translate your strength into something people can purchase, evaluate your competition and make your first move. Do you have excellent communication skills? Then sell it! Verbal communication skills are a highly necessary commodity in the world of business today and can be used in a number of effective marketing options. Be creative in translating your strengths in something marketable. 

Start an at home part time business...

Get that extra rent money by filling in the gaps in your schedule. Take an interest of your, such as walking dogs or babysitting and start picking up odd jobs. It doesn't matter what it is. If you can find a way to walk 1 dog a week or babysit for one person, you have found a way to make money that can eventually be translated into something bigger. If you can make ANY profit on it, then there is a chance that you can eventually make a lot. Don't sell yourself short. Look at the bigger picture and take something simple, then see if you can make it huge.

Don't be afraid to get a part time job that you enjoy...

If you don't minds running errands or deliveries for some business on Saturdays for a few hours, then do it. Find a low stress mildly paid job that you can do with ease while getting some extra rent money on the side. Look in Craigslist on a daily basis under part time jobs and start looking. Always keep your resume updated and handy and don't be afraid to jump on an opportunity.

Rent out extra space or goods...

Do you have extra space in your house or apartment? Remodel a room and rent it out to someone else. Do you have some useful goods that others may want to borrow? Rent those out as well. As long as you have something that's expensive that others need, you can let someone borrow it for a price. This is another example of thinking outside the everyday box. Look at what you own. Evaluate the value of these things. See if there is a market for it without being forced to sell it.

Sell things you don't need...

Get rid of that extra clutter you've been want to clear out and sell it. Look at the stuff you own and determine if it's actually useful to you. Seriously ask yourself if you really need this item and then find a way to get rid of it at a worthy price. Garage sales can be effective, but selling things on Craigslist or Ebay can be much more consistent and marketable.

The most important thing to remember is to not give up. In order to get the proper help paying rent or bills you need to find the motivation to get on a project and don't give up till it works. Dedication combined with a little creativity should be your answer to finding that extra needed money. Don't be a victim of this horrible economy and start making the changes in your life to get back on track and never again have trouble paying rent on time.
