There are a number of ways to get help with rent today weather it be pulling out a personal loan of receiving government assistance. However, focusing on the long term steps you can take to lower your rent will help give you consistent financial stability.
A recent survey suggests that 1/3 of landlords in America have already lowered the rent for their tenants. This statistic implies that you may simply benefit by asking your landlord for a drop in your monthly rent payment if you decide to sign a longer contract. If you plan on living in your current residence for a long time, see what your landlord can offer you in terms of a longer term contract with lower monthly payments.
Don't be afraid of your landlord. Make an effort to work closely with them regarding your everyday life. Build a business and personal relationship with trust and honesty that will in turn help you with your rent down the road.
Many landlords and real estate owners are currently going through similar financial issues such as yourself. While you need help with paying rent, they need help paying their mortgages. Everyone today is searching for a long term financial stability plan.
A recent study was done that implies 60% of landlords who are willing to negotiate rent payments were willing to lower monthly rent payments by about 5%. Another 30% stated they would lower an individuals rent up to 10%. And just to state the obvious, 0% of these landlords raised an individuals monthly payment when they attempted to ask. This suggests you have nothing to lose by asking your landlord for rent help.

I talked to my landlord and she was very understanding of my situation. I say give it a shot you have nothig to lose. They would probably work it out with you then to not receive anything from you at all!!

I tried this same technique because i needed rent help badly. I simply told my landlord my situation and how much help with paying rent i needed and they completely understood. It seemed to work so far as they are giving me a little help and leniency. Also, it feels so much better to just be open with the rent problems your having then holding it all in.
