Now that it's quiet, it feels good. Both Ed and I can feel the tired seeping out of our bones. It may take the rest of this day for the seeping process to complete itself. Finding rent help is lots of work. However, we approached this rent stuff the same way we approach every dream and project: tail over tea-kettle...in other words, dive in head first and don't look back, or come up for air, until we're done...

My son is an Army veteran who just finished his last tour in Iraq in March 2011, and has two babies and a wife at home. Their youngest is still an infant, and after completing his enlistment in June he began looking for a job, which he has been unable to find so far. He's got an eviction notice for nonpayment of July rent, and has not got his electric payment or car payment. This kid has never cried since he was 7 years old, not even when he collapsed after basic training with a burst appendix, and was almost in tears when he called me about the situation. I've been selling my plasma to pay for my gas while I'm getting through nursing school and haven't got a spare dime to give to these kids. Nobody in the family seems to be either better off, or generous enough to help. Anyone knows of Army or military resources he can use, or anything in Colorado Springs to help these kids out, please email me at seablue711@hotmail.com so I can pass on the information. So far I've recommended Catholic Charities and Army Emergency Relief, though usually the Army charity only helps active duty members and since his enlistment ended he's officially reserve status. They're both looking for jobs but haven't found anything so far.

its been a tough couple of years and even tougher couple of months. my husband is a layed off union carpenter and we have a beautiful 3 yr old son. we have been living on unemployment, cutting coupons, lowering the heat and wrapping in blankets just to save a few dollars. in oct our only mode of transportation broke down and it put us in the hole $1,500. but with out that car i would not have been unable to get my husband to the ocassional call back for work and/or any side jobs that have kept us afloat throughout the years. we were unable to make november's rent bc of this and recieved a court ordered eviction notice dec 1st. out of the $1,700 (including court costs and late fees) we are unable to come up with $635. we have to be out of our home on dec. 28 with no where to go. any help would be a God save. my only christmas wish is to be safe with my family in our home.586 447 6869 my name is elizabeth and we live here in warren

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the government to issue rent help for those in need? I need help paying my rent but I also dont want to waste my time if it takes too long. Any help would be great. Thank you!

these are some great tips, thanks for the advice. I've been looking for rent help for the last 2 months knowing that I was gunna be screwed financially eventually.
My business recently got shut down to a huge decrease in sales, so now im back out in the demanding job market looking for anything. It feels pretty pathetic to have to contact the government for rent help, but I have a family and it needs to be done. The main problem is that the government rent help solution takes a little too long.
Therefore the rest of these tips listed have been very helpful in my search for a better life. I hope the best for everyone else out their looking for some kind of rent help, but I do recommend that you dont ever give up till you get what you need.
